The Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity Foundation stands with medics

As the nationwide protest of medics continues and medics reiterate their demands asking for systemic changes, which will benefit both medical professionals and patients alike, we would like to reiterate our support to all involved in protecting and saving the lives and the health of people in Poland.

Protesting medics, who have created a hub of their activity, the so-called White City in Warsaw, demand an increase in salaries and a systemic increase of budget spending on public healthcare in the country. What is more, the protesters issued demands regarding employment practices in medical professionals, paramedics, nurses, EMTs.  Our charity works closely with medics and provides hospitals with equipment (our charity donated over 66 150 devices for hospitals and clinics nationwide). In addition, we have donated medical equipment to almost all children's hospitals in the country, provided support to ambulance staff during the pandemic and reached out to care and nursing homes as well.

We are well aware of the commitment and efforts made by medical professionals. For almost 30 years, we strived to support them.  We raised over PLN 1.5 billion (almost EUR 330 000 000). We bought and donated equipment for almost all branches of medicine, with a special focus on providing state-of-the-art medical devices for paediatrics and elderly care. Equipment purchased by our charity increases the speed of diagnosis and provides ease of work, and improves the chances of successful recovery. Health workers can rely on modern equipment to aid them in their work. Another element of our annual activity focuses on running and financing eight nationwide medical initiatives.

We wanted to show our appreciation to all healthcare workers in the country. This year, we rolled out a massive billboard campaign where apart from informing the public about the result of our common charitable efforts, we thanked healthcare workers. We aimed to send a message of unity, gratitude and point the public attention to the often unmentioned work of the medical professionals. Different interactions of our artwork appeared in 3200 locations in 88 cities in the country.
