Australians from The Rumjacks return to the Most Beautiful Festival in the World!

Celtic punk straight from distant Sydney will once again grace the boards of the Pol'and'Rock Festival's Main Stage! The band captivated the Most Beautiful Audience in the World in 2016.

The band was founded in 2008 in Sydney and quickly gained a positive reputation from audiences and critics alike, being known for their powerful and energetic live performances. The band has released six studio albums, two live albums, and a series of EPs and singles. One of the most famous songs of the band is An Irish Pub Song, which became a viral hit and gained over 80 million views on YouTube.

The Rumjacks members combine various musical influences, including elements of punk rock and traditional Celtic folk. In 2009, they released their debut EP Hung, Drawn & Portered, which was followed by their second EP Sound as a Pound later that same year. The Rumjacks gained international support from punk legends such as U.K Subs, GBH, and Gypsy punk legends Gogol Bordello.

The Rumjacks performed on the Main Stage at the 22nd Woodstock Festival in 2016.

In March 2021, The Rumjacks released their fifth studio album Hestia, refreshing the spirit of collaboration within the band and ushering in an explosive new era of energy and creative expression. Hestia introduced new vocalist and songwriter Mike Rivkees, heralding a refreshing evolution for the band that brought together old and new fans. The album achieved undeniable success both critically and artistically, marking a fresh chapter in The Rumjacks' history. Energized by the release of Hestia, The Rumjacks quickly returned to the studio to record the EP Brass for Gold, capitalizing on their newfound artistic sensibility.

I think that although the Covid-19 pandemic 'slowed everyone else down,' for us it made us want to work harder, record more music, plan and think ahead to when all this mess would be over.
-Johnny McKelvey, bass player for The Rumjacks
