AFA Meeting | Grzegorz "Young Boomer" Kalinowski

A unique opportunity to get to know a multidimensional creator who successfully combines various fields of art in his work. We invite you to an AFA meeting with Grzegorz Kalinowski - a writer, journalist, commentator, and director.

Grzegorz Kalinowski, born in 1966, is an extraordinary figure in the Polish literary and media market. As a journalist, he became famous as a commentator during the grand finals of the UEFA Champions League and the Polish Cup. His film work includes music videos for groups such as Brygada Kryzys, Immanuel, Houk, Falarek, and Bakszysz. His passion for football is a fixed element of his life – he is a loyal fan with an annual pass to watch football matches live and a permanent seat in the stands.

Meeting with Kalinowski is an opportunity to discover not only the secrets of literary creativity, but also to understand how diverse experiences influence the writing process. His books have won numerous nominations and awards, including the Golden Bullet, the Great Caliber, and the Criminal Warsaw Festival. He made his debut as a novelist in 2015 with the book Śmierć frajerom, which quickly gained him numerous readers. The retro crime novel Pogromca grzeszników reached the final of the Wrocław's Great Caliber Award, and the war-thriller novel Granatowy was honoured by the commander of the Police School in Piła.

He started his adventure with writing in 2013, during a long illness. In addition to his own work, he co-wrote the biographies of the legendary footballer Lucjan Brychczy and Czesław Lang. The works on a screen adaptation of his novel Załoga are currently underway.

This meeting will be an opportunity to get to know the multidimensional figure of Grzegorz Kalinowski, who has translated his experiences as a football fan, music traveller, and reporter into exciting, tension-filled novels. We invite you to jointly discover the secrets of crime, historical sensations, and the fascinating world of football. All those interested are invited to the meeting, which will take place during the 29th Pol'and'Rock Festival as part of the Academy of the Finest of Arts.

The meeting with Grzegorz Kalinowski is held on Thursday, August 3 at 1.30 pm

This is a real treat for all lovers of crime literature, history, and also for those interested in the world of sports and music. We invite you to join the conversation and share passions!
