Gojira at the Main Stage at Pol'and'Rock Festival!

With their sixth album presenting the band at the top of their musical and creative ability, Gojira's show at the summer festival is a must-see for all the fans of heavy music.

The band has been originally formed as Godzilla in Bayonne, France, in 1996 but changed its name to Gojira in 2001. The band's line-up has remained unchanged since 2001. Gojira consists of brothers Joe Duplantier (vocals, guitars) and Mario Duplantier (drums), lead guitarist Christian Andreu, and bassist Jean-Michel Labadie complete the line-up.

Having released six studio albums and one live CD/DVD, the heavy metal band is on top of their form. The very core of their music is technical death metal, but they combine it with the raw power of death metal, more experimental elements of groove and progressive metal. Gojira's lyrics don't shy away from describing difficult emotions of loss and grief, tackling topics such as the possibility of life after death. The musicians also take a stand on environmental issues. Gojira's powerful music combined with raw, yet vulnerable vocal has a shattering effect on the audience and their live shows are a masterclass of stage energy. Gojira has toured with Metallica, Trivium, Amon Amarth. Children of Bodom. They have also performed at some of the major festivals such as Download Festival.

Gojira received a Grammy nod for their 2016 release: Magma was nominated for Best Rock Album, while their single "Silvera" was nominated for Best Metal Performance.

We spent two months...composing new stuff, composing new songs. And we feel very optimistic about the future. We're already enjoying a lot of the new stuff. We want to make the strongest album we can do. I mean, all the bands say they try to make the strongest album, but this time, I think we will really do it
