New acts for Pol'and'Rock Festival confirmed

Pirates of Metal, legends of thrash metal from Italy, and beloved Polish punk-rock band joined the line-up of the massive free summer event.

Alestorm will be introducing the audience of the Most Beautiful Festival in the World to their own brand of power metal music. Combining power metal with elements of thrash metal with folk music, they achieve a truly unique sound, often described as a heavy metal shanty. The band describes their music as Pirate Metal, and pirate aesthetics dominate their shows, artwork and is a running theme of throughout their lyrics.

Alestorm was formed in Scotland in the early noughties. The band initially performed as Battleheart, however, before their debut release they changed their name to Alestorm. The trigger to introduce a distinct pirate aesthetics into their music was the success of their single, titled 'Heavy Metal Pirates'. The band has pursued an electrifying combination of power metal and folk music. Using instruments traditionally associated with folk and shanty music, such as tin flutes and violins the rebels from Scotland came up with the sound which is unmistakenly Alestorm.

The band has released 5 studio albums and 1 live concert album. They have toured extensively showcasing their energetic music and hilarious sense of humour to some of the best-known European festivals, such as Hellfest in 2015 and Download Festival in 2017. The band headlined a tour of the US and Europe.

They have a giant inflatable duck. Does your band have a giant inflatable duck? No. I didn't think so.

Extrema are a legendary thrash metal band from Italy. With over 30 years of experience in the heavy metal industry, the band's show at the Most Beautiful Festival in the World will be a real headbanger's delight!

Extrema have been playing heavy and fast since before many of their current fans were born, and it’d be foolish to think of it in a negative way. They navigated through the thick and thin of it all and are most definitely not fair-weather metal-heads, and that built a faithful and cross-generational following worldwide around'em.

The band, led by Tommy Massara’s abrasive guitars and energetic personality, got its start in Milan, Italy, back in 1986. During 30 years of activity, the band released a number of albums, EPs (all recently remastered and reissued with bonus tracks) and a DVD, toured with the likes of Motörhead and Death Angel, and opened for Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth, Suicidal Tendencies, Korn and many others. And, of course, endlessly touring on their own.

Big Cyc (cyc stands for ‘tit’ in Polish) is legendary Polish punk-rock formation, strongly influenced by ska and reggae music. The band has enjoyed a close relationship with the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity Foundation. Big Cyc has played at Woodstock Festival Poland and performed at the concerts which take place on the day of the Grand Finale public charitable collection.

The rebellious collective has been formed in 1988 in Łódź university by a group of creative university students (Jacek Jędrzejak, Robert Rajewski, Jarosław Lis, and Roman Lechowicz). Their music remained fresh, energetic, and full of humour. From the very beginning, their lyrics were satirical, funny, and often very controversial. The band members contested stiff societal rules and poked fun at the political and social situation in Poland.

The band’s concerts are always a spectacle and members of Big Cyc never forgot their stand-up comedy roots. The Most Beautiful Festival in the World hosted the band’s 25th-anniversary gig. This year the band will be celebrating their 30th anniversary with a very special show at the Second Stage of Pol’and’Rock Festival. The artists promise surprise guest performances and exciting renditions new and old hits. Their show is definitely something to look forward too!
