Death by Chocolate returns to the festival

Death by Chocolate will be making their return to Poland to play at the Second Stage at Pol'and'Rock!

Established in 2003 in Biel, in Switzerland, Death by Chocolate are working their way to the top of the rock music charts - one sold-out show at a time! The Swiss band have played hundreds of concerts, driven thousands of miles and are earning a reputation as one of the best live bands in Switzerland. Some of the band’s highlights so far have been: supporting Bon Jovi at Zurich's Letzigrund, playing the main stage at Woodstock Festival Poland, performances in the esteemed American music venues such as Whiskey A Go Go, Viper Room and Roxy in Los Angeles, tours throughout Europe, alone and as support for The Blue Van, The Answer and others, and a west coast tour through America from Phoenix to SeattleNot forgetting all the shows they’ve played in Switzerland: from the renowned Gurten Festival to the sold-out album release party in Bern’s Dachstock, to the intimate secret-gig, for the single release of “Animal Keeper” on 7-inch vinyl.

With their second studio album, released in 2015, “Among Sirens”, the band garnered much attention in Switzerland. With a top 10 place in the Swiss album charts, radio stations started to take notice of Death by Chocolate - and along with them, the whole of Switzerland. The nomination as «Best Talent 2015» at the Swiss Music Awards followed swiftly and in Los Angeles, they were awarded a promotional prize at the MUSEXPO Global Rock Summit. 2016 was another year full of highlights for the band from Biel.

They got the chance to produce their third album with four-time Grammy winner Vance Powell (Powell worked with the likes of Jack White, The Dead Weather, Seasick Steve, Chris Stapleton, etc.).

“Let’s do a record!” - was Powell's enthusiastic invitation when the band recorded the song "Animal Keeper" a year earlier in his studio in Nashville, which is by many considered to be the capital of music. Inspired both by this vibrant city and past experiences, singer and guitarist Mathias Schenk wrote the 11 songs for the new album "Crooked For You". The ideal recording location with Vance Powell was quickly found: the famous ICP Studios in Brussels, about which the soul legend Solomon Burke enthused: "This is the kingdom of sound and soul!" The third album in Death by Chocolate was released in the spring of 2017 and has cemented the band's position in rock music business for good.

Line-up of the band: Mathias Schenk, Thomas Schläppi, Daniel Schläppi, Daniel Wyttenbach, Kevin Chesham.
