Charity Donates Two Ambulances

The Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity donated two brand new, fully equipped ambulances for two public hospitals in Poland - Szczecin (northern Poland) and Ustrzyki Dolne (southern Poland) received emergency vehicles each worth almost PLN 1 000 000.

First of the vehicles was donated during the press conference on March 8th. Jurek Owsiak, chairman of Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity Foundation announced that a state-of-the-art ambulance will be donated to "Zdroje" public hospital in Szczecin. Our charity bought and donated a fully-equipped neonatal ambulance. The ambulance can be used to transport the most vulnerable of little patients because it is equipped in the latest model of transport incubator.

We bought an ambulance for Szczecin hospital. It's a specialised neonatal ambulance, and it means that it is equipped in a transport incubator and other essential devices, making it a small mobile hospital. This vehicle and equipment are worth around PLN 1 000 000.

The purchase of the second ambulance was a joint effort between TVN TV station and our charity. The Foundation and TV station came against each other in an exciting charitable football game last year, and money raised through the sale of tickets and via SMS donations went towards the purchase of an ambulance for a hospital in Ustrzyki Dolne. The vehicle, which has 4x4 drive to manage the mountain terrain around Ustrzyki Dolne, is equipped in transport ventilator system, defibrillator, blood vessel scanner, and infusion pump. The ambulance worth is estimated at almost PLN 700 000.

Last year's game was such a great sporting adventure for all involved, but it also brought about this fantastic, fully-equipped specialised ambulance for the Ustrzyki Dolne hospital. We are very happy that the main prize of the game - this ambulance - will serve patients from Ustrzyki Dolne.
