MRI Scanner Donated by the GOCC Already in Operation

Brand-new scanner already in operation in Chorzów hospital. The magnetic resonance scanner was purchased by the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity for almost PLN 5 000 000 and was financed with the money raised during the 27th Grand Finale Fundraiser. The equipment allows doctors to scan even new-born babies. First patients will undergo diagnostics today.

I am very grateful to Jurek Owsiak and all people working in aid of the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity. I'd like to thank the local government in Chorzów for the support of renovation and refurbishment of the existing MRI lab.
-doctor Jerzy Szafranowicz, head of the municipal hospitals in Chorzów

The scanner has been installed at the newly renovated and refurbished suite at the public hospital on Truchana street. The renovation and refurbishment was patry financed by the city and partly by the hospital budget. The cost of refurbishment amounted to PLN 800 000.

The Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity donated MRI scanner which is worth almost PLN 5 000 000. The equipment was purchased during the 52nd edition of Open Tender. The machine's design references space travel, and a projector mounted on the wall of the MRI suite will be used to screen fairy tales to divert little patients during the exam.

The aim of the projector is to divert the child during the examination. We are aware, that even though the exam is painless, it can be very stressful for our patients. What is more, the equipment is quiet.
