It is with great joy that we announce an unusual concert that will surely electrify the audience under the Main Stage. Two bands have combined their forces to create a unique musical project. Welcome to the world of North East Ska Jazz Orchestra meets Wicked Dub Division!
North East Ska Jazz Orchestra is an 18-person grand orchestra, whose roots date back to 2012. The group consists of three vocalists, a rhythm section, three trumpets, three trombones, three saxophones, and a flute. Throughout its activity, the band has gained a large following and collaborated with leading representatives of Italian reggae and ska, such as Mr. T-Bone, Furio, or Olly Riva.
North East Ska Jazz Orchestra marked its first steps on the music scene by releasing their first EP in 2014, titled "Music For Marikana". In 2015, thanks to a successful crowdfunding, their first album "Stompin' & Rollin'" hit the market. Since 2016, the band has been regularly performing in Europe, participating in prestigious festivals such as Rototom Sunsplash or Freedom Sounds Ska Festival.
Wicked Dub Division was born in 2005 in Italy, stemming from an idea by GP Ennas (drums) and King Claudio (bass). The arrival of Michela Grena, and Massimiliano Peak (dub live set) in 2014 marked a new starting point for the ensemble towards a path of musical experiment, mixing blazing and hypnotic sounds with wicked and minimal beats. They released 4 albums: Wadada (2011), Dub Drops (2015), Red (2016) and Deepest (2019).
The next milestone in their musical journey was the collaboration with North East Ska Jazz Orchestra. A group of 22 musicians came together to capture the explosion of energy, passion, and love for music and recorded the single "Mama". The official music video for this song has exceeded 18 million views on YouTube. The band's vocalist, Michela Grena, also collaborated with Zion Train, performing at numerous festivals and concert tours.
Both bands, known for their incredibly energetic and diverse styles, decided to join forces and create something beyond extraordinary. In May 2022, they released a joint album "Live Studio Session #1", consisting of nine live-recorded songs. Now they have the opportunity to present this unique project at the Most Beautiful Festival in the World.
