The legend of the Polish punk scene – The Bill – is returning to the Most Beautiful Festival in the World!
One of the greatest icons of the Polish punk scene, The Bill was formed in 1986 in Pionki by Dariusz "Kefir" Śmietanka and Dariusz "Skóra" Stawski. From its early years, the band gained recognition on local stages despite frequent lineup changes. A turning point came with their participation in the legendary Jarocin '92 Festival, where the band won the audience award. This event marked a new chapter in both the band's history and that of Polish punk.
Their debut album "The Biut," released in 1990, secured The Bill a top spot in the Polish punk scene, selling over 60,000 copies. Subsequent albums such as "Początek Końca" [Eng. "Beginning of the end"], "Sex and Roll," and "Daję Wam Ogień" [Eng. "I Give You Fire"] showcased the band's musical diversity, unafraid to experiment and evolve artistically. After a brief hiatus, The Bill returned in 2004 with a refreshed lineup, again featuring Kefir as vocalist and guitarist. Over the years, the band has released several albums including "Niech Tańczą Aniołowie" [Eng. "Let the Angels Dance"] and "Historie Prawdziwe" [Eng. "True Stories"], which continue to be revered by punk rock fans.
The Bill has performed at the Most Beautiful Festival in the World three times – during the 19th Woodstock Festival, 20th Woodstock Festival, and 23rd Woodstock Festival
Currently, The Bill consists of Dariusz "Kefir" Śmietanka (vocals, guitar), Andrzej "Jędrek" Tomczyk (guitar), Tomasz "Zawad" Zawadzki (bass guitar, vocals), and Artur "Artie" Woźniak (drums). Their latest album "The Kada" is the band's tenth and was released after a ten-year hiatus from recording. This latest effort marks another true return to the roots of Polish punk rock by this iconic band!
